Oscar is about 20 years old now. He is a neutered male DLH dilute orange cat that was abandon in a cat carrier at our shelter in 2007 . When Oscar came into the shelter he looked beat up, in bad condition and had a UTI for months until we cleared that up. Oscar is now on Gabapentin medicine daily for his severe hurting joints and arthritis. He was having a hard time moving around but now Oscar is doing ok getting around, he has his good days and bad days. He can still walk up and down the cat stairs onto the chairs. Oscar is very vocal about it, he is so proud that he can go up and down the cat stairs ( 4 steps) onto the chairs. Happy Oscar The Lion King!! (Oscar’s Lion Yawn & Oscar’s Big Smile)

Francine is about 11- 12 years old, Calico, spayed female. She came to us very obese and could not even walk, and she was so matted it took hours to shave her down. She was so neglected in her previous years. But NOW, Francine is doing very well, she has lost over 8 pounds and can groom herself, plus we help her along grooming her too. She is on a strict diet but it is to benefit her health. She has been diagnosed with a UTI with crystals. So she is now eating prescription food C/D dry food. She loves her wet food, so we give her fancy feast and W/D wet food AM and PM at feeding time. She does get some cat treats twice a week, a few pieces. Since Francine has lost the weight she now can play with cat toys, she jumps up on low cat beds, loves cat nip and rolls all around in it. She feels good but does have a little arthritis but she does ok. Francine tries so hard to over come her weight problem. She does a great job doing so !!
Francine’s prescription C/D Dry food is about $30.00 a bag and her prescription W/D wet food for 8 cans is about $20.00 . If you donate the funds, we will buy all of her special food for Francine. This special food is good for her UTI problem, weight problem and her bowels.

Harley is about 16 years old, neutered male DLH orange and white cat that was given up because the former owners had a baby. When Harley came to the shelter he had a little “catattitude” and was passed over, for adoptable cats. Harley got very comfortable at Mass Humane Society shelter/sanctuary and all of the volunteers. Harley loves loves under his chin scratched – so he gets that daily enjoyment everyday. Harley is free roaming and gets all the love and attention and his favorite foods everyday. Harley become a ” MHS Resident”
Harley has a “Patella” problem in his back knee/leg, so he is now on Gabapentin medicine daily for his Patella, joints and arthritis. He is doing so well on the Gabapentin Medicine, walking and moving around so much better, even jumping up.
