MISSING CATS or DOGS and OTHER ANIMALS
Here are some tips for you to take action. If you have a LOST PET or a FOUND PET. ** Please Read **
Go to http://www.craigslist.com and post your pet info & contact info. Post some pictures of the pet. (make sure you put the location of where the animal was last seen or found - street, city-town, state; also any markings on the animal and name of the animal.)
Post on your Face Book (if you have a FB.)
Contact your local town newspaper and put in ad -- missing lost pet.
Contact your town dog officer/ACO - leave info with officer, your local Police Department.
Contact surrounding town dog officer's & ACO's - leave the info with them.
Contact your local animal shelter or animal organization.
Post flyers of the missing pet on street telephone poles - 1/2 mile up your street and down your street on both sides of the street. Post flyers of the missing pet - one or two streets over from where you live.
Distribute missing pet flyers in the neighborhood mail boxes around the location of the missing pet.
Find out if anybody is feeding cats. Cats will roam & wander about 7-10 houses from your property.
Dogs will roam street by street. Drive down the streets around the dogs dinner time and call for the dog and bring a box of dog cookies -- and shake the box. The dog cookie box will be heard by shaking the box. Dogs know the sound of shaking dog cookie boxes!
Get some cat dry food and shake the bag or box around dinner time at the door. Call your kitty's name and shake the dry food.

Posted: December 18th, 2011 - Hi - I just wanted to report my dog missing. She is a Pomeranian and goes by the name Lilly, she is about 19 months old, about 7 lbs., she is tan with white around her mouth and on her belly, we trimmed her hair so she has short hair, her tail is about 4-5 inches long and when she is happy it's in a curl on her back, or if scared curls it under her. Posted: December 12th, 2011 - Hello, I am writing because my cat, Anastasia, has been missing for almost a month and a half now. She got out of our house on Forest Street in Franklin, accidentally on October 21st, 2011 and we have looked everywhere for her. She is an adult, domestic short hair, green eyed, brown and gray striped Tabby, spayed, about ten years old in December and weighs about 11 pounds. She is not wearing a collar because she is an indoor cat. I am attaching some pictures below so you have a good idea of what she looks like. His back leg was injured pretty bad and on our way to the Vet he escaped from the cage and ran under a porch and was never seen again. He ran out of his cage right in front of Merwin Memorial Free Clinic For Animals in Allston, MA on Cambridge St. We believe he may have snuck off to one of the side streets to hide from the rain. He is male Tuxedo cat, around 2 years old. He lives in Newton, but goes to Merwin Memorial in Allston. He went missing on November 16th, 2011 around 5:00 pm. At the time he wasn't wearing a collar. He is a very friendly cat and most likely will come up to you to be petted. I really just want to get him the proper treatment because his leg is probably broken. Posted: November 24th, 2011 - Please check your property, in the woods, under a porch, on the side of the road, etc. for a MALE ROTTWEILER. If you have spotted him please call 508-361-3226. "Tigger" was last seen in Hudson, MA on October 7th, 2011 walking on Brigham Street near Washington (Rte. 85). He is old and fragile and had just spent the previous 4 weeks being brought back to strength in his new adoptive home. He has medical issues making it difficult for him to walk in a straight line and when he stands he needs to support his ribcage with his elbows. He is incredibly sweet and willing to wiggle his nub at anyone - men, kids, cats, you name it - but doesn't respond to any particular name. He is microchipped and was wearing a black and white polka dot collar with tags. They were his sister's tags - one for rabies, one for the town of Hudson and one that says "Princess 73 Depot Rd Truro 508-361-3226" Perhaps someone picked him up and is trying to get him to Truro? Posted: November 13th, 2011 - Hi, my amazing 5 month old dog disappeared while hiking off leash with a friend near the Bay Road entrance to the Seven Sisters mountains in Hadley, MA. He is mostly black with a white tipped tail and some white on his stomach and behind his neck. He was seen wearing a blue full-body harness with his name and my phone number, and responds to 'Tiny Moose' or 'Moose'. He probably got scared and went to find some humans once he started getting hungry, so I'm desperate searching for someone that's heard anything about where he is. Posted: November 13th, 2011 - It has been 24 hours since our cat, Poam, has been missing. He did not return home last evening (last seen on 11/8/11 around 5:00 pm) He is 1 yr old, medium size (9 lbs), medium-hair, Orange and white coloring, with one white arm and the other arm has orange stripes down it. He has beautiful orange markings on his face. The most obvious markings are 5 tiny freckles on his nose, which is pink (along with freckles on his inner lips) He has a long orange fluffy tail. He has been fixed - no other medical problems. Very soft fur. Would not approach strangers, somewhat skiddish around people he doesn't know. Playful and curious. We scared the animal into dropping him from his jaws, but Noonie ran and has not returned. He is 14 years old, ling hair, orange and white, has no tail (amputated years ago), notched ear. Posted: 11/8/2011 - Haverhill, MA. CAT FOUND. 10/17/11. Color: White with black and grey "poured" on back. Large black spot on nose. I've been taking care of her (?) since then. She was found while I was walking around town. She jumped out of the bushes, had no collar, and wasn't located near any noticeable houses. Posted: 10/22/2011 - Hi - This cat has been living in our yard/sleeping on our front porch for about 2 weeks now. It's a medium sized, black tuxedo, with a white face, paws, and a white mark at the tip of its tail. I have put up postings on Craigslist weekly and no one has claimed it. Its extremely skittish and hasn't meowed once - it's only hissed at me once when I approached it while sleeping in the kitty crate I left outside for it. I cannot bring it in my house since I have a dog. I have been feeding it regularly, but its just getting much too cold for this poor cat to be outside. Posted: 10/17/2011 - Good afternoon, On a recent trip to Topsfield, MA I came across a black, medium size pitbull/lab mix (guess) running North on Route 1 in traffic near the Topsfield Fairgrounds. It had a purple collar but no tags. We put the dog in our car and brought it to the Topsfield Police Station, who handed the dog over to Animal Control. This was on Saturday, 10/8/2011. As of today, the dog still has not been picked up. I am not sure what the procedure is for posting info about lost animals but figured you could give this information to the proper people. Posted: 10/10/2011 - Hello, Our cat has been missing since Monday. We moved out of our house at 48 Kenwood St., Dorchester on that day. He somehow escaped from the house without my noticing it. I've gone back several times to look for him and he has not responded to my calls. He is usually gone for 2-3 days at a time when he has escaped, so I've focused my efforts on looking for him since Thursday, with no success so far. He does not have a collar (as he is an indoor cat) or a microchip. Name: Calvin - Breed: Domestic short hair cat - Description: dark gray with very light white and black striping on the body and white around his face (see the picture); white belly. He also has one broken incisor tooth. Posted: 09/29/2011 - Lost Male orange short haired Tabby. His name is Twinkie. He escaped from his home on Harold St. in Chelmsford, MA on Sept. 19th, 2011. He had a silver, orange, and blue tag with a cat paw on it. He does have a micro-chip. He is mostly orange with three white patches on his tummy (hence the name Twinkie), he has an "N" tattooed in his ear (difficult to see but it's there). Twinkie has been an indoor cat his whole life and is very skittish around strangers and difficult to approach when scared. He is deeply missed and any information would be greatly appreciated. Posted: September 5th, 2011 - We've lost our loving puppy, named Bella, on Friday September 2nd, 2011. I took her for a hike in Blue Hills and as we were getting in my car to leave, something must have spooked her out and she ran into the woods. We've seen her a handful of times in the woods but she is still young and is very scared. We haven't seen her in about a day, so we think she may have left the woods towards surrounding areas. Bella is an Italian Mastiff, with dark grey fur and bright blue eyes. She is around 90 pounds, and despite her large size, she is extremely friendly and loving. She is wearing a sky blue collar, but does not have tags on. We will do anything to get her back. If you've happened to take her in or even at least see her, please let us know. Posted: September 5th, 2011 - My cat, Tasha, has been missing since Saturday evening. She is 14 years old and she generally does not leave our back yard - I'm afraid she may have snuck out through the patio door when I was taking something off the porch. She has hyper-thyroidism and needs her meds twice a day, so she hasn't had any since Saturday morning. She has gray and brown stripes, very long white whiskers and bright greenish-golden eyes. Posted: September 5th, 2011 - When we returned home tonight there was a pigeon sitting on one of our cars in the garage. As we got closer, it appears to have two tags on its legs - one green tag and one red tag. Looks like one leg is injured. We tried giving it water and a box but no luck so far. If anyone has reported a lost pigeon, we would be happy to have him or her return home. Posted: September 1st, 2011 - Our cat sitter was unable to find our cat in our home in mid-Cambridge on Friday, 26 August, 2011. A neighbor reported that she saw her cat sitting on our third floor porch rail, which means that she had gotten outside and either jumped or fallen. She could be injured. The cat is a medium-haired grey tabby with bluish-green eyes and white paws. Friendly with a loud purr and meow. She is an indoor cat and only went on the porch with supervision. We found an adorable tuxedo cat, with four white paws/socks, in our backyard and he has been with us since August 13th, 2011. We have been feeding and playing with him. He seems like an indoor cat, because he recognized a cat food box, and seems to really like company. We cannot tell the gender, as well as the age. The cat is also large in size (probably 15 lbs). We really hope we can return him to his owner. We called our town's police, but no one has reported a lost cat, so we are hoping by posting on this site, someone will recognize him! Posted: August 23rd, 2011 - FOUND BLACK TUXEDO CAT - This black cat with white paws and white neck and belly has been hanging around our house in West Roxbury for almost a week now. It has no collar. It is incredibly sweet and super friendly. She/he (I think it's a girl but don't know for sure) will let you pick her right up with no fuss at all. This morning she even followed my wife all the way to the bus stop and walked next to her ankles the whole way. Despite the fact that our dog incessantly barks at her, last night and this morning we found her on both our front and back porches meowing. I should also mention that we had never given this cat food or water, so it is odd and also very sad that it is so "attached" to our house (especially given the fact that we are the only house with a barking dog in the window). I almost think the cat likes Sophie (our dog) and in interested in her. Maybe this cat comes from a home with a dog? The cat is obviously not afraid of dogs. I did finally give-in and I gave the cat some left over duck I had in the fridge this morning when I went out to go to work. I found it loudly meowing on the front porch of my next door neighbor's house. I only have a short video that I took of the cat this morning when I gave it some food. I unfortunately did not take a photo because I was not planning on posting any fliers, and after speaking with my coworkers, I decided I should. Posted: August 15th, 2011 - Bailey, our indoor/outdoor cat, has not come home since August 2nd, 2011. His collar was found on the edge of our property but he is still gone. If someone is taking care of him, we really need him back home. And if he has been injured or worse, we just want to know. Posted: August 15th, 2011 - My family has lost 2 cats, they are brothers. Batman is an all black Tabby cat with light yellow eyes. He weights about 10-15 pounds. Robin is an orange stripped Tabby cat with light green eyes. He weighs under 10 pounds. Robin has a long tail that curls at the end quite a bit. He's quite thin as well. Batman is a heavier cat. My family moved and two weeks after the move both outdoor/indoor cats went missing. They were last seen on August 8th, 2011 in South Amherst, MA. Posted: July 25th, 2011 - My husband and I found a cat that has been living in my bushes and from what I have been told, she has been to several other homes in my neighborhood looking for food and maybe shelter. We believe her to be a young female and she is a very sweet cat. My husband and I have been feeding her for the last 5 or 6 days and we have even let her into the house to cool off during the summer heat. It seems that she is not a feral cat and is she is very loving and affectionate. We would like to see if she is chipped and we have placed flyers around our neighborhood and have spoken with our neighbors to make sure that it isn't owned by anyone around us. Posted: July 21st, 2011 - One of two cats (house) named Peanut Butter escaped my home this past Saturday. I am devastated for that I have grown so fond of my cats, they have gotten me through the hardest times of my life. She was taken from her mother at a young age and never grew to full size so may be mistaken for a kitten. She is short haired, black fur with tones of orange. Her left paw is the color of peanut butter (as if she dipped it in a jar). Again, she's very small, also a bit skiddish. She/he is very affectionate and would follow me into the house if I'd allow it. She/he has no collars or tags, but I was able to take a picture (please find it attached). She has been a part of our family and sometimes I think has kept our family sane, for 15 years, we know she is getting to that point, but it is unlike her to have run-away and not come home... even after only a few hours. We are worried for several reasons; She was fine Monday evening, but began acting strange Tuesday morning: Lethargic, vomiting clear liquid, no appetite, difficulty walking, sleeping all day... she also started taking a new medication (can supply rx info if needed)... which listed all those symptoms as side-effects... again she was her fine playful self the night before, we are wondering if that also sounds like poisoning side-effects? We fear she may also be so ill she is unable to find her way home and has strayed further away then she set out to do... She is a huge part of our family and we are all worried about her. We just want to know if she is okay. We are looking to you as our last hope that some by grace of God she has been found by you or someone. She is 15 years old, up to date vaccinations, her name is Tigga. She lives on Cherry St. in Spencer, MA. Posted: June 5th, 2011 - Yorkshire Terrier Female lost in the Wrentham area by the Common and also seen near Trout Pond Woods. She is a beautiful dog with long hair. When it gets wet it makes wringlets. She is silver in the body area and light tan on her head and paws. Her ears are up. Her eyes are brown and they do get runny. She is spayed and she has a scar on her stomach. She has a light brown pigment near her lower nipples. Her tail was docked way too short, so if she is scared it will look like she does not even have one. She is very fast. Her name is Diamond. She had a harness on and was on a cable type leash. I am sure she wiggled right out of the harness or chewed it off. She is microchipped and if you bring her to any dog officer they will scan her and they will call me. Posted: May 24th, 2011 - I spotted this cat on my front doorstep at about 12:00 Noon today May 20th, 2011. It was outside 11 Story Street in Harvard Square. The cat is orange and very fluffy and has a white chest and white paws. It was not wearing a collar. The cat was meowing a lot and tried to follow me into my building. The cat was also very affectionate and even rolled over on its side for me to pet it. He has since recovered and on Friday, April 29th, 2011 he broke a screen in one of our windows and is now lost to us. He was last seen on Norwood Street in Dorchester and could be in or around Neponset or Tenean Beach area. I am attaching a poster that we have put up around our neighborhood. Posted: April 23rd, 2011 - A month or so ago I found a lost male chihuahua wandering the streets and brought him home. Almost a month later I found his original owner and gave him back, but then learned that the owner had lost the dog multiple times (he said "five" times). From then on I would occasionally visit the dog and every time I did, it was walking around outside without a leash with the owner off somewhere in the backyard, otherwise not paying any attention. Two times since I first gave him back, the dog has gotten lost; the first time he ended up near my house and now the second time, from what I understand, someone took the dog after it was walking the street again, possibly four days ago. The chihuahua is an old male with short white fur and orange/brown spots. He isn't fixed, has bad teeth and was last seen around Northshore Road, Revere, MA between Wonderland and Revere Beach station. Posted: April 13th, 2011 - I found a small tan & brown unaltered male Chihuahua, wearing a small silver choke chain, at a rest stop this weekend (4/10/2011). He might be a mix, he has short legs & big ears that stick straight up. This little guy is super friendly & loving to people and other dogs, so I know he must have an owner missing him A LOT somewhere out there. I took him to the vet yesterday to get scanned, but he doesn't have a chip. They think he's 8(+) years, but is a few lbs under weight,weighing in @ 7.4lbs. Posted: March 28th, 2011 - "Harvey" is a 9 month old neutered male cat, and was last seen in the alley behind #45 Rutland Square in the South End of Boston at 2:15 Friday afternoon March 25th, 2011. He has gray fur which looks solid gray from a distance, but actually has lighter and darker stripes, visible in bright light. He has a small white patch of fur under his chin. His most unique and defining feature is that he has 6 toes on all of his paws. He does not wear a collar. He typically spends much of the day outdoors, but comes in at night. He does not tend to roam very far from home, and usually comes running when we open the house door. He is very friendly and social, and often visits neighbors at their house. I'm hoping that maybe he made friends with someone else in the neighborhood and is visiting at their house. Posted: February 6th, 2011 - Female cat found in Chelmsford at the end of December, 2010. She has green eyes and looks like a Maine Coon cat. Posted: February 5th, 2011 - If you see the attached Grey Standard Schnauzer answering to the name Mooch, (went missing in the Central Square area of Cambridge, MA from outside the dog walker's house/running car. Posted: February 4th, 2011 - Buddy (Golden Retriever) wandered off with Hershey (Chocolate Lab) on 1/30/11 from Bridgewater, MA. Buddy has a collar on with a rabies tag and his name and contact phone number. Buddy has grey on his face and head, and he weighs about 90 lbs. Hershey is dark brown (chocolate) approx. 80 lbs. They are both 5-1/2 years old, both male, and have very sweet, gentle dispositions. Unusual for them not to return back home. Posted: February 4th, 2011 - I lost my cat almost two months ago. I know it'd be unlikely to find her but I'm hoping maybe someone took her in. She is a black and white spayed female cat with no front claws. I lost her at 255 Harvard Street on the Wollaston/Milton line in December, 2010. Face mostly black with two curved lines on both sides of her mouth - makes it look like she's smiling. Lost January 30th 2011, Chestnut Street, Newton, MA - Susan - Phone: 617-839-4785 - Melody has seizures and desperately needs her medication. Melody and her mother "Mama" are both rescued feral cats, but they are the sweetest! Melody can be shy - except around kids. Please help! $$$ REWARD $$$
